A small collection of letters written to James F. Rhodes, most by Charles F. Adams (1835-1915). The letters relate to historical writings of both on the Civil War and U.S. history, often offering questions and criticisms; current politics; and some business of the Mass. Historical Society of which Adams was president. Also included are two letters from Lord Acton on Rhodes's historical writings and a copy of a Rhodes letter to Adams.
